This weekend marked the start of our first half term holiday. Marto was away on a business trip to France, so Pip and I went to stay with Nana & Granddad, along with Marto’s brother’s family.
It was a little odd being at the in-laws with all Marto’s family bar him, but also nice for Pip (and me) to hang out with Nana and Granddad, play with her cousin and for the two of us to have some company.
This afternoon all the ladies plus Pip’s 16 month old boy cousin went swimming at Nana’s gym. Pip loves swimming, as does her cousin, and we all enjoyed splashing in the water.
It’s been quite tiring, being the only parent on duty. Pip has gone from being an excellent all night sleeper to a fairly frequent waker. She was up 3 times last night, and that felt like a good night. With Marto not in occupation, I had Pip sleeping in the other half of the bed last night, which made the night wakings a little easier, but I still miss those days when she slept soundly from 8 til 8. Which I never mentioned before because I didn’t want to sound like I was anything other than grateful for at least a few months of sleeping more than 3 hours at a time.
I think the combination of teething, weaning and more movement and interaction hence catching more viruses and colds has been our sleep downfall. And now I don’t quite know what to do to improve it again.
(can you believe she has enough hair for a teeny pony tail?)
